Saints started the tournament with a 4-wicket win against Nkowankowa Hub as well as a 69-run win against Dr. JL Dube. They made it three from three against Victoria Hub with a 5-wicket win to seal a spot in the final today at the Tuks Oval.

Their opponents are Steyn City School from Gauteng and promises to provide a good test. Karabo Meso, the SA u/19 player, has had a good tournament for her team as the leading run-scorer and Saints will want to take her wicket early on.

Saints have been the best bowling unit in the tournament by far. They took 20 wickets in 2 matches yesterday to make a statement of intent. Captain, Tshegofatso Monyela, has been brilliant all-round, with her leadership and bowling efforts (8 wickets at a strike rate of 8.6 and economy of 2.3) standing out. She also guided Saints to victory against Victoria with a 31* (26).

Siphumelele “Ice Tea” Duma has been a constant threat and is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 9 wickets (strike rate of 9, economy of 1.5 and bowling best of 4/5).

Reabetswe Dithipe and Gogontle Padi have also been very effective at taking early wickets and keeping the pressure on in the opening overs.

Saints is a tight unit who is enjoying its cricket under the leadership of coaches Claudio Lucas and Ché Williams. They will be confident to pull of another win in the final and have all the ingredients they need to lift the trophy later today.

The action starts at 13:30 and is live on Supersport 209 and the Supersport Schools App.
