Saints Christian School and the North-West University through the Centre for Health & Human Performance (CHHP) will be providing psychology and wellbeing services for our learners! The aim of this partnership is to provide a safe environment for psychotherapy that will improve the wellbeing of your child at an academic and physiological level.

The following services are provided:

o Psychological intervention for various difficulties, such as:
o Anxiety
o Depression
o Grief
o Bullying
o Emotional and social skills
o Parental guidance
o Assessments, including (but not limited) to psychological assessments and academic assessments.

Workshops for parents/ caregivers and educators on various topics.
Who will be presenting the sessions?
Two Intern Counselling Psychologists from the NWU:CHHP, Crystal Daniels and Stefan Heystek. They will be under the supervision of Dr. Michelle Bach, a clinical psychologist and lecturer at the NWU.

When do sessions take place?
Sessions start from 11 February to 25 November 2025.
Sessions occur from 08:00-13:00 on Tuesdays at the school. Note that limited space is available and that sessions last from 30-40 minutes per group/individual session.
• Individual sessions need to be scheduled where an additional consent form will need to be completed.
Feedback will be provided, including parent coaching sessions after 4-6 sessions with learners.
How does the process work?
1. A consent from will be sent by teachers to the parents. Caregivers/parents must sign the form.
2. Both assessment and therapy services can be rendered based on the needs of learners. Assessments may include academic assessment (individual/ group setting) and psychological assessments
3. A referral network will be provided if learners could benefit from other services, such as SLT and more.
